In older days, cybercriminals were mainly targeting laptops and computers. However, with the advent of the latest technology, smart phones have also become their target. If we look into the security purposes, then which one is the most secured- Android or IOS.
Let’s have a look at both the operating system and find which is secure enough for your safety purpose.
Android operating system:-
- Androids are hugely popular among individuals. There are several apps created for the ease of people which they install in their android phones, but the problem arises when attackers build an app with a motive of injecting the virus to the mobile phones. Mobile users, who are unknown to the authenticity of these apps, install them and as a result, fall prey to the hackers.
- Another noticeable point is that sometimes users modify the source code of their mobile phones and this makes their devices vulnerable to attacks.
- An android operating system runs on mobile devices which are developed by numerous companies. There might be some who provide more secured hardware. Manufacturer of the devices uses a custom ROM or base operating system with software already installed in it which cannot be removed or analyzed for malicious intent.
Apple IOS:-
- Well, the IOS operating system runs only on apple products. Due to its more stringent controls, it becomes difficult for any malicious app to enter into the iOS operating system.
- Unlike Android, iOS users cannot modify their operating system or custom ROMs. This feature makes it more secure as compared to Android. However, some iOS users try to modify their source code through Jail breaking. If anyone does this, then Apple is not going to take responsibility.
- The iOS operating system is used by a fewer number of mobile devices. Therefore, it is less famous among attackers because attackers mainly target the system which is used by a horde of people like Android.
Thus, in the end, I would like to state that never download an app from the third party since it might be infected with a virus. If you are using Android phones, then rely completely upon the Google play store and for IOS users, the Apple app store is the best place to download any app.
