We lead from our values so that people live out a passionate walk with God, grow and develop, and bear lasting fruit.

Faith

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. … And without faith it is impossible to please [God] …” (Hebrews 11:1,6, English Standard Version).

Living this out means that we, as an organization, aim to keep our focus on God and not on ourselves. Because Jesus said “… for apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5, ESV), we realize our need for Him in every aspect of life and ministry. We depend on His Spirit moment by moment, yielding to Him as He instructs, abiding in Him and seeking to maintain a wholehearted devotion to Him.

Growth

“Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ” (Colossians 1:28, ESV).

This value says that, as an organization, we are committed to the maturity of the people God has entrusted to us. This challenges us to develop multiplying leaders who care for people. We focus our efforts on discipleship — both in ourselves and in others — pursuing character change rather than simply completing a training program. This value refers to not only individual growth, but also our collective growth.

Fruitfulness

“… Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit … but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide …” (John 15:5,16, ESV).

Fruitfulness means that, as an organization, we are willing to examine the results of our efforts. Specifically, we look for people to come to Christ, to be changing into conformity with Christ, and to take His message to the world. It drives us to focus on not just our activity, but also our effectiveness. Because the Lord has entrusted so much to us, we strive to be good stewards, seeking the best return for our efforts.

It takes the power of many to end childhood hunger.

It takes donors who believe in the cause, experts to diagnose the problem and innovate solutions, organizations to pool their resources and expertise, and communities to work together for change.

Feed the Children exists to end childhood hunger. It’s the cause upon which we were founded over 40 years ago and the one that we continue to fight for each and every day.

We know it takes the power of many to end childhood hunger for good. We connect donors, experts, partners, leaders and communities to attack the problem from all angles.

We are taking a stand and we will not rest until every child has enough to eat.

Responsible Stewardship

91% of Feed the Children’s expenditures in FY2019 went to Program Services.

We are volunteers living out God’s call to love people.

Specifically, we are loving kids in our community by providing to some who are struggling to meet a very basic need – finding food to eat.  We believe that “to those whom are given much, much is required.”  (Luke 12:49)  Our “much” includes time and resources to create a mobile pantry that fills the gap for children relying on the school system for basic food needs.

We are also moms and the thought of hungry kids keeps us up at night.  Hunger is a bigger problem in our community than you might think.

The thought of one hungry child pulls our heart strings.

The idea of many hungry children makes us get up and do something.

We provide food to local children who do not have enough to eat at home.  All of the kids we help with the GO BOXES (school break food boxes) and GO BAGS (weekend food packs delivered during the school year) are referred to our program by the Family Resource Officer / Guidance Counselor at their school.  For reasons identified by the school, the children we help with the GO BOXES and GO BAGS will not receive the food they need on the days that school is not open. During the school year these kids receive breakfast and lunch during the school day.  When school is not in session, many of them do not eat.  GO Pantry is stepping up to provide food to these children when it is not available to them at school.

It all started with few families
trying to help 7 kids.

We grew into an organization that helps over 450 kids supported by over 1,000 faithful volunteers.

There are lots of great organizations helping to feed people in our community.  The reason there are so many pantries and churches trying to feed people is because the need is so great. We live in this community and strive to make a positive impact on kids in our area by providing food to those who are hungry.

Mission

Goodwill works to enhance people’s dignity and quality of life by strengthening their communities, eliminating their barriers to opportunity, and helping them reach their full potential through learning and the power of work.
History

Goodwill was founded in Boston by Reverend Edgar J. Helms, a Methodist minister and early social innovator. Helms created the Goodwill philosophy of “not charity, but a chance” when he collected used household goods and clothing in wealthier areas of the city, then trained and hired people who were poor to mend and repair the used goods. The goods were then sold or given to the people who repaired them. More than 115 years later, Goodwill remains a household name and leading nonprofit provider of educational and workforce-related services.
Structure

Goodwill Industries International (GII) is based in Rockville, MD, outside of Washington, D.C. The Goodwill enterprise is a network of 157 community-based, autonomous organizations in the United States and Canada with a presence in 12 other countries. To meet the needs of their local communities, each local Goodwill organization designs its own programs and services to help people find work near where they live.

Local Goodwill organizations are innovative and sustainable social enterprises that create job training programs, employment placement and other community-based programs by selling donated clothing and household items in More than 3,300 Goodwill stores (North America) and online at shopgoodwill.com® and other e-commerce platforms.

The Voice of the Martyrs is a nonprofit, interdenominational Christian missions organization dedicated to serving our persecuted family worldwide through practical and spiritual assistance and leading other members of the body of Christ into fellowship with them. VOM was founded in 1967 by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned for 14 years in Communist Romania for his faith in Christ; his wife, Sabina, was imprisoned for three years. In 1965 they were ransomed out of Romania, and soon thereafter they established the global network of missions of which VOM is a part. The Wurmbrands based these missions on Hebrews 13:3, which instructs us to “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.”

About The Voice of the Martyrs

The Voice of the Martyrs continues this mission around the world today through the following purposes:

To encourage and empower Christians to fulfill the Great Commission in areas of the world where they are persecuted for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
To provide practical relief and spiritual support to the families of Christian martyrs.
To equip persecuted Christians to love and win to Christ those who are opposed to the gospel in their part of the world.
To undertake projects of encouragement, helping believers rebuild their lives and Christian witness in countries where they have formerly suffered oppression.
To promote the fellowship of all believers by informing the world of the faith and courage of persecuted Christians, thereby inspiring believers to a deeper level of commitment to Christ and involvement in His Great Commission.

VOM’s Mission Statement

Serving persecuted Christians through practical and spiritual assistance and leading other members of the Body of Christ into fellowship with them.

VOM’s Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father where He intercedes for us, in His present rule as Head of the Church, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that all men and women are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ is necessary for regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life in the presence of our Lord, and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church.
We believe that we must dedicate ourselves to prayer, to the service of our Lord, to His authority over our lives, and to the ministry of evangelism.
